How to treat fibromyalgia naturally?

In his book “YOU: Staying Young – The Owner’s Manual for Extending Your Warranty, Dr. Oz explains various anti-aging strategies.

But how would you treat fibromyalgia? Dr. Oz recommends listening to Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, a physician specialized in treating fibromyalgia.

About 8 million Americans have to face problems related to fibromyalgia, although some scientist refuse to admit that it even exists. Symptoms of fibromyalgia are usually headaches, muscle pain, depression or fatigue. Dr. Teitelbaum believes that he can help all those people.

Dr. Teitelbaum is the medical director at the National Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Center, where he helped thousands of people. How did he do that? He focuses on four vital health areas: Sleep, Hormones, Infections, Nutrition and treats fibromyalgia with a 5 carbon sugar called ribose that is giving patients more energy quickly.

Fibromyalgia Causes And Treatments

  • 1. Stress
  • 2. Toxic Waste Products inside our body
  • 3. Unhealthy eating habits
  • 4. Hydration
  • 5. Not enough sleep
  • 6. Sluggish thyroid
  • 7. Exhausted adrenals
  • 8. Candia or yeast

If you can improve the points above, you might be able to treat fibromyalgia naturally.

Hi I am writing from Toronto.
I have generalized Hypohydrosis for the past 10 months (63 yrs old). Unbelievable sweating for the upper body. Family dr. ruled out thyroid, medications, blood sugar. I am post menapausal. I have been taking Effexor and Welbutrin, Blood pressure meds. and collesteral meds.

Can you think of anything else. My next step is to go to an internist.

My husband is 70. He has had two 20 minute seizures last year three months apart and
recently had a third which lasted about 2 minutes. He has had strong reactions to five anti-seizure meds. A friend told me she thought she saw info. on your show about a woman who had a parasite worm in her head which was causing her to have seizures?

My husband’s Neurologist has had two MRI’s taken of my husband’s head which did not
show any problems. The Dr. is thinking of stopping his 5th Med. and have him go for an
in-hospital 5 day, 24 hour continual EEG study.

Despite 40 years of Psoriatic rheumatoid arthritis he was working a 40 hour week through Mar ’09, his energy and walking have declined dramatically in the last 6 months. All the anti-seizure meds. make him very tired. He sleeps 9 – 10 hours per night and gets tired
after 5- 6 hours of regular activity.

Would you please send any in-put?

    Thank you.

I love ur show and learn so much. I am a 45yr.old stay at home mom who just found out last yr. that she’s disabled(me?–how?). I had surgery(ACD & F spinal diskectomy on C5-C6 Feb.’06)and ever since have been suffering. My question to you is why are there so many people who have had my type of surgery suffering so much. I mean the numbers are staggering. They say now that I have a list of things wrong with me…why? All I went in for was to repair and got worse off than I was. I wish people could become aware of the seriousness of this surgery.
I am a professional vocalist. I worked in Opryland when it was going since they closed the theme park in ’94 and I don’t know why it was good 4 so many people. Anyway, since I am a singer the NS didn’t want me to lose it during the proccess of surgery. He decided that he would go through the left side of my neck instead of the right(more nerves on right, right?). Well, I don’t know if that is what did it, but I was told by a good family friend, who is also dr.,that the NS that done my surgery put a screw in an opening and placed it right on top of a nerve. Now, I don’t know if all of the people on that website had the same issues as I, but I just know that I am doing just as my friend doc said I would. I am losing the use of my arms and legs. I don’t know what to do because the NS that did my surgery won’t do anything @ it and I am getting scared Dr. Oz.. I have so many symptoms and my neck, shoulders, arms, legs, and feet all hurt. I even am having pains that are striking me in my head right on my temple(mostly left). Should I be alarmed at that symptom? I feel like I should. It scares me when it just strikes and then aches sometimes. It feels like a vein or a nerve. I just wished I knew what is going on in my body. I feel like I’m dying sometimes..am I?
I am sorry I wrote so much, but I really feel I am in bad shape and I don’t know what to do. Do you have any idea of what I should do if the NS that done my surgery won’t touch it will anyone else? Probably not. I am in a sinking boat I am afraid and don’t know where to go…but down..and I can’t do that. I have two wonderful boys(Shane 18,and Bryan 13),wonderful hubby and great parents that need me and I need them it seems too much. I can’t do anything..it hurts toooo much. Can’t even be touched..it hurts..:(
Thank you so much 4 your wonderful show that is helping so many. Hey,I have to tell you this..I have lost 40lbs. (after I got off Lyrica and cut back on my foods)Taking Neurontin now, much better.:)
Take care of yourself and always…GOD BLESS..Karen

    Dear Dr.OZ,
I thought I would ad that I truly believe that I do have a nerve trapped and I have got to get it out of there.Idon’t believe I have the list they dx me with(Fibro-I thought and I am sure they’re others that feel like I do,is just a name they slap on your chart when they don’t know what it is..I may be wrong). I have too much living to do and love helping and doing 4 others when now it seems everyone is doing 4 me..I THANK THEM WITH ALL OF MY HEART.
It is hard when you have to lay here and do nothing. Well, I do watch and DVR your show and I just got this labtop and I am so glad I can at least reach out and speak to someone..:)
I tell you what, if you can get me well(just find out if it is a screw on a nerve) I will perform on your show, if you like and I do still have some friends that might join me(Lonestar-I know Dean Sams, we worked in Opryland together and Chely Wright..also Ken Mellons).I would love to sing again on stage. It was great to perform at the Opry. Oh, I loved it. Miss it too. Hint Hint..
I would love most of all to alleviate some, if not most of this pain or all. Thank God I can still type because all I get out of my hands(carpel tunnel-both)is a meezly paragraph.
Well, you think it over and I hope to hear from you soon.(fingers crossed)
    Thanks again,Karen

P.S I am trying to get a website up for the show I was in at Opryland in Nashville,TN.(Country Music USA)

I recently saw the Dr. Oz show where the woman asked about those mole like things under her breast. Well I have them too I found that the way to control them is to use deoderant on them. I think when we perspire it makes them swell, I have been doing that and since I started I have not got any new ones and the ones I have are starting to fade. ( not going away but are flatter ) My sister is the one who put me onto this trick and I am very happy at the result tell the ladies it is definately worth a try as they can become very irritated and sore in the warm weather. Keep up the good work I find your show very informative. sincerely Millie
