Olive Oil, which contains an astounding amount of calories from fat per serving, is also a great source of the “good fats” that your body needs. Replace vegetable oil, canola oil, and palm tree oil with Olive Oil and your health will almost certainly take a turn for the better.
Healthy High Calorie Food – Distinctions
There are other foods which may indeed have high amounts of calories or even levels of saturated fat, but are still considered healthy because of their other benefits. Whole or 2% milk, while not optimal, is a great source of Vitamin D and Calcium. It has a considerable amount of calories for a beverage, and comparatively high levels of saturated fat, but it is nonetheless good for you.
The ultimate rule of thumb is moderation. Even eating too many “low calorie foods” can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. A proper and healthy diet should consist of both healthy high calorie foods and healthy low calorie foods.
A person can become obese and morbid both by eating too much broccoli or too much cake. High calorie foods are not the enemy, but rather an integral component of a balanced and healthy diet.
