According to the world known specialist and author Dr. Oz, drinking natural juice is the greatest method to boost your energy and nutrition intake for people of all ages.
It is a well known fact that most of the children do not like the fruits and vegetables. Therefore, we tend to give up on trying to offer our family healthy food. The aspect and the taste of the food is what counts when dealing with kids. Dr. Oz took these into consideration when created these juice recipes.
After I read several health related articles, I have decided to make some efforts to increase the amount of fruits and vegetable in my family alimentation. My kids like junk food very much and this it what concerned me the most, thus I always try to make them eat more healthy food instead of junk food. Maybe this is the case of your family too.
Despite all the efforts, you won’t be able to keep them off the junk food all the time, but you can increase their interest for the healthier one. In order to make the yummy juices described below you will only need a common juice maker.
I don’t know about your family, but mine likes any type of juice I make as long as it is sweet enough. First juice recipe I learned from Dr. Oz and want to share with you is called carrot-spinach-apple. As its names says it is made from 4 trough 6 large carrots which should be washed and end removed.
The apples (two is enough) have to be sweet: red or golden delicious. My personal favorite is Fuji. Finally, the last component is spinach. I like to use 2 or 3 cups of baby spinach because it is easier.
Second juice recipe is fresh lemonade. Dr. Oz recommends using two small or medium apples which should be washed and stem removed and a half of a lemon. The lemon has to be washed and if you find the peel to be too bitter for your taste you can remove it. I tried with and without the peel and I like the lemon without it.
Maybe you are concerned about fiber loss, as many people are. This case, I will share a juice recipe that puts all the pulp in use in order to make a nutritious and delicious snack. You have to try this.
It is called apple muffins, and is made from the followings: one and a half cups of unbleached flour, one and a half cups of apple pulp, a quarter cup of apple juice, a half cup of whole wheat four, a full cup of honey, two tsp of baking powder, a quarter tsp of salt, a quarter tsp of cinnamon, a half cup of milk and two egg whites.
Firstly preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and then make the first mixture, with half cup of flour, the apple pulp and the apple juice. The second mixture is made with the rest of the flour, honey, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, milk and he egg whites. Finally combine both of them and keep mixing them until they moisten.
If you want to have more fun, let the kids to do the whole job.
